Hi and welcome. Wow. It feels a bit strange to be participating in this whole thing now rather than just observing. But, I'm sure I'll find my feet. Any tips welcome. I'm new.

There are wonderful times in life when the world opens up and offers you something new, a new door. This happened to me at an organic supermarket in Balmain last week. It's a great place on Victoria Rd, feels so good just being in there, but it wasn't just the food or coffee, it was the company. Of course.

Today I went to the Sydney Film Festival with friends and my baby Jack. We were priveliged to see the world premiere of River Of No Return. It's a documentary about Frances Djulibing, who is one of the stars of Ten Canoes.

I've not written for a while because I'm deep in the labour pains of bringing the Social Investment Guide to market. Our launches are happening in Sydney and Melbourne at the end of this month. We've been incredibly busy finalising it all, talking to the media, talking to potential donors and wealth managers. There's enormous interest. It feels good to be bringing in a new option to grow giving in Australia. A new way.

It's been a big few weeks. I've talked so much, I actually lost my voice yesterday. The Social Investment Guide has given us a platform to open conversations with people about philanthropy and social investment that are different. People are sharing their own personal stories.

I once read that writing fan mail was good for the soul. I agree. I think it's important to tell other people that you love what they do and who they are. Here's my fan mail for the month.
1. Djapirri.. you are the most beautiful woman. Yo. You inspire me with your graciousness and potent words and ways. I dream of living with your community on your land, if you would have me and my family. |
